it was the day before setting off, the day of packing things and do all those last minute stuff, when out of the blue this idea of sending a short daily mail with a picture from the road to friends and family popped up. so that's how this road diary started, which was scribbled on a note pad at first, transferred to mail next, and became a website at last.

and the idea turned out to work in both ways - the diary made me take photos I normally would never had even considered taking, and in ways I never did before - clicking right away through the windshield of a speeding car, trying to catch this road feeling.

as to the pictures and the lyrics: I used a Kodak 2.0 digital camera with zoom to take
the pictures, and altered the colours with photo software when I put together this site. the quotes in the slide shows are from Jack Kerouac's novel "on the road", from Ernest Hemingway's novel "islands in the stream" and from REM's cd 'reveal'
