places need time ~

when i arrived here in Benaulim, in Goa, the whole place seemed kind of odd to me. scattered and stranded, that is how i felt. tricked by expectations, by memories of past travels, by the dream of the palm trees. it didn't even take half a day, then i had the ticket for the night bus arranged, the ticket out of this place.

but now, as the time to leave has arrived, i rather want to stay.

and so i walk along the water, to Colva and back, and so i sit in a chair in the sand of Camilsons, and so i learn the lesson: places need time. it may take a day to arrive, it may take another to connect.

now, on the third day, i am here. which is a perfect case of bad timing.

cause, now, on the third day, i have to pack my bags. now, on the third day, i feel like one of those blue boats you can see here at Benaulim beach, i feel like missing the best, i feel the words starting to flow

beside her
blue silent boats
guardians of the slow horizon

above her
silver angels
remnants from Christmas

inside her
this nameless longing

a reflection of the tide
life to the lees
